A BRIEF COMPANY HISTORY
Lynian Business Services started in 1994 as an enterprise company by Ian Jarvis after taking redundancy from a managerial position in Devonport Dockyard. Lynian started with one client, who is still successfully trading and using Lynian´s services.
In 1998 Catherine joined the business and has played a guiding role in expanding the company. When Lynian changed its status from Sole Trader to Limited Catherine became a Director and share holder. She qualified as a Bookkeeper and Payroll Technician through the Association of Accounting Technicians (A.A.T) the hard way, through home study and distance learning, having previously qualified as an administrator to NVQ 4.
During 2003 Suzanne joined us whilst still a trainee, on a recommendation from Acacia Training, and has since fully qualified as a Bookkeeper and Payroll provider through the Association of Accounting Technicians (A.A.T). Suzanne who manages our Payroll Bureau as well as servicing her portfolio of bookkeeping clients is a highly valued member of the team.
Kelly joined in 2006 after a poor experience elsewhere and will qualify with the Association of Accounting Technicians (A.A.T) in 2009. She has started to build up her client portfolio over the last year and is now developing her experience across a wide range business genre.
In 2009 the company decided to start another trainee as an investment on the future so we offered Natasha Kerr a training contract. We first met Natasha when she joined us on one weeks work experience. She impressed us all with her enthusiasm and willingness to undertake the tasks given. Natasha has now started on what we hope is a long and successful career through the qualification of Accounting Technician.
Our policy has always been to expand, year on year, by small percentage figures so that expansion is effective and sustainable. This ensures we can continue to service existing and new clients to our expected standards.
We are at present serving companies with turnover from £25K to £4M. This work is carried out for some on a daily basis whilst others only require our services weekly, monthly or quarterly, but we are happy to assist on a regularity driven by the measure of work and client requirement.
